This week a stunning event took place: Republicans from Sean Hannity to Gov. Ron DeSantis went on TV and said they backed science and supported Americans getting the COVID-19 vaccine. This wouldn't be news but for the fact that these same individuals spent the last 18 months denying COVID existed, sewing doubt about the safety and of the various vaccines, and making vaccination a political - rather than medical - issue for their viewers and constituents.
